Monday 22 February 2010

Day 53 - 22nd February 2010

Fresh out of the shower, she looked like such a pretty little angel sitting there wrapped in a towel. So, I couldn't resist taking a picture :D

Sunday 21 February 2010

Day 52 - 21st February 2010

Woke up to a little snow this morning and saw a CRAZY window cleaner!

Walking on a sloping roof + Walking on a sloping icy roof = Risk of falling and Paralysis, possibly even death!

He literally proceeds to walk to the top of the larger roof to clean the window.
He must really love his job to risk his life like this!

Saturday 20 February 2010

Day 51 - 20th February 2010

Taken for a red theme. I thought our son's toy from the Disney movie, Cars, would be perfect.

So, here he is, "Red".

Friday 19 February 2010

Day 50 - 19th February 2010

The charity group I knit with at the local library :o)

They are such a lovely bunch of ladies. I have a wonderful time when I am in their company.

It was so nice of them agreeing to be my picture of the day today.

Thursday 18 February 2010

Day 49 - 18th February 2010

MY results for set subjects, "Amusement" and "Shapes," at my local photographic club are: 1st for slides, 2nd place for Digital, 2nd place for Prints...Yay!

Now I am preparing some prints for exhibition. Portraits in Booths, Prints for the photographic society shop window and a Print to display in a coffee shop

Yay! for happy days

... and my picture for today ...

I'd like to be a busy little bee,
Being just as busy as a bee can be,
Flying round the garden
Brightest ever seen,
Taking back the honey
To the dear old queen.

Day 43 - February 12th 2010

Reaching out.

In the word's of Diana Ross...

♫ ♫ ♫
Reach out and touch
Somebody's hand
Make this world a better place
If you can
Take a little time out of your busy day
To give encouragement
To someone who's lost the way
♫ ♫ ♫

Pretty appropriate for the way I have been feeling the past few weeks.

Thursday 11 February 2010

Day 42 - February 11th, 2010

I wasn't sure what to shoot today. So, I decided to capture some water just before I got a shower.

Wednesday 10 February 2010

Day 41 - February 10th 2010

With Valentine's Day coming up, I thought I would wish you all lots of love, and big "Ugs" (haha sorry couldn't resist!)

Tuesday 9 February 2010

Day 40 - February 9th 2010

I had planned to go to the Lake today with the intention of capturing some birds, weather permitting, of course.

So here is my picture of the day...

It's almost like the Gulls on the ground are saying, "Over here mate! Come down here and have a chat!" lol

It was such a beautiful day, even though my hands were absolutely frozen, that I couldn't resist stopping there a little longer to get a few more shots.

I really LOVE the lighting on these trees and the contrast between nature and man-made wood.

Monday 8 February 2010

Day 39 - February 8th 2010

A Family Portrait :D

Sunday 7 February 2010

Day 38 - 7th February 2010

Off for a walk with Nanny.

Saturday 6 February 2010

Day 37 - 6th February 2010

Something I am better known for ... a window lit portrait of one of our many beautiful daughters :D

This particular daughter of ours very rarely let's me take her picture.

Maybe she is lacking in confidence in some way.
I can't see why! ... She is beautiful!

So, when she asked me if I could take her picture today I jumped at the chance!

Friday 5 February 2010

Day 35 & Day 36

Day 35 - 4th February 2010

I told my kids I would make them a bag to put their library cards in. Something like a phone purse.
I was going to make my Son one in the form of a monster.
Then I remembered he likes Puffles so I made him one of them instead.

Here it is all tacked up and ready to sew :D

I finished it in the early hours of this morning and he proudly took it to school for "Show and Tell".

Needless to say he got ALOT of positive attention in the cloakroom hehe.

Day 36 - 5th February 2010

All finished and being held by one very proud owner :D
As you can see it's gone from the size of a phone purse, to the size of a large bag, that can hold his cars lol.

Can you tell how much he loves it? :D

Wednesday 3 February 2010

Day 34 - 3rd Febraury 2010

We do it with Pumpkins so why not do it with an apple. (I used my flash by the way, not a candle).
I had fun this evening :D

How I did it...

Hollowed out the apple and poked 3 holes up by the stalk in the hope that the flash would slightly illuminate the stalk.

Placed the apple on the middle of my table where it comes apart and put the flash on a chair underneath.

To serve as a model lamp, I used one of my continuous studio lights.
I used a baking tray, covered in foil, to serve as a reflector and made a tin foil cone to help the flash illuminate the apple.

Tuesday 2 February 2010

Day 33 - 2nd Febraury 2010

Remember THIS from "Day 13?"

Here we are at "Day 33," and this is the finished sweater ... She loves it!

Monday 1 February 2010

Day 32 - 1st Febraury 2010

So here we are in February!

Yay! I completed one whole month using ALL fresh pictures.

Let's see how well I do this month. Wish me luck lol.

"A Round Tuit"
I bought this for my Aunty years and years ago, (probably looking at about 20 years ago), and when she died it was given back to me.
